I was having a conversation with a good friend the other night about people and how they effect us. We both agreed that virtually everyone you meet affects you in one way or another. We learns something from everybody. I mean didn't Curt Cobain teach us that Heroin and shotguns don't mix? Of course you knew that before hand but now you are certain it is a bad combe. Ok, seriosly, I want to take the effects of others a step forward. I am talking about heroes; People that simply inspire us to be better; To do more and go farther than we probably would just sitting alone. And yes when people talk about "heroes" or "role-models" they usually think of the untouchable ones; actors, musicians, sports figures, and so on. Don't get me wrong I have those too. For those simply untouchable ones that have inspired me, I am grateful to say I have met each one and they were all so down to earth and "normal" that I think that is why I was able to look up to them. But there are so many unknown people that have inspired and pushed me that to ignore their existence and simply fondle over "stars" would make me feel cheap and low. For people like Lady Synn, my friend Brian, Kevin, Dave, and so many others the best I can do is say thanks. So now basically I am going to put up pictures of people I think are inspiring and simply rock. Sadly though I do not have pictures of many of my friends. Maybe over time we can remedy this. Henry Miller. If you have never read him I suggest you do. This man knows what being alive is. This is my friend Jenn Mcnutt, who recently left Cincinnati to go kick some musical ass in California. Need not to worry, Jenn is amazing and kick ass she will do easily. I am more glad to have known her than she will probably ever know. |
