I have been in Columbus for almost a week now. I have been staying with holly wich has been wonderful. Man what a good fucking feeling it is to wake up next to someone that you are in love with everyday, and to go through that day and in the end you simply like them more. The new studio is great and being the sole artist is kind of nice because I have almost 100% input and in a way it feels like I am part owner. Of course this week was slow as hell, but it is to be expected. I should have our big sign done tomorrow though and a hoping the windows will be covered the middle of this week. Holly has been super supportive of here almost broke, technically homeless boyfriend. Her parents have been wonderful as well... Making an expierence that could be extremely desperate a hell of a lot easier. I am planning a nice dinner out when things really get rolling. Nothing much new I don't think. There has been an extention added here (see the want more? below?) somewhat created out of boredom and somewhat out of a desire to appear more organized. I started on my flamed bowling pin project today and hit the snag that those thigns are plastic and don't grip the paint well enought to endure the heavy masking required to do a really cool hot rod like flame job. But it is something I will just have to figure out. I have been waiting years to do something to that ugly ass bowling pin. Tomorrow I am taking a day long trip north to hang with my Lady Synn, and I am sure that will relax me greatly, and rejuvinate me (as she has a way of doing). The flash is coming along quite well. Another page was started today with a large half-sleeve type griffin design that I am quite fond of. Hell, if I had an upper arm empty I might just get it. Well, I can think of nothing else, since it was a bland day (unless you would like to hear about my fight with our lawn-mower) so Sin-Out. June 24th, 2001
Accomplished a lot today and that always makes me feel good. Nothing super special... But I did learn to work some with steel using a blowtorch and sledge hammer. That was interesting. I did do some work on my flash, and will be scanning in a few of my favorite pieces from it as I get them coloured and finished. The rest of my day, apart from yard work and some mall rat activity, was spent designing a shelf type thing to begin construction tomorrow. I really want to get started now since I finally got all of the measurments and shit figured out. Why the hell isn't the hardware store open at 11:00 P.M. on a Sunday anyway? I wonder what my Granfather would think if he knew I had this great woodworking project in the works? That wa shis hobby, and I believe he was always a little bothered that I never really took to it on my own. Maybe I just needed to think of doing something I really wanted to do. I will post some pictures of the project as it moves on, and if I am satisfied with it. This could lead to more if all goes well. Well, nothing more to say today.

Slept in late today, but I think it was justified since I was up until 10:00 A.M. half-heartedly planning out some new projects and so forth. Did work on a new page of flash today and set up for a "normal" job-interview Monday mornign with a friend of mine. Pretty frustrating, but like Chris said: "It is good honest work." And it will have to be done if my desired reloacation North is to be done properly. Although I could always do a few tattoos and just go. Being a homeless tattoo artist doesn't sound so bad right now. |
